Our Voice, Our Vote Executive Director Sena Mohammed issued the following statement congratulating Adelita Grijalva on her win in the Democratic Primary for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District: 

“Adelita is a longtime progressive champion with deep roots in her community, and she is exactly the leader Arizona needs at this moment. She comes from a family culture of public service, and her candidacy represents a transfer of leadership to the next generation — one where young people and people of color have a voice in our state’s future. 

“Adelita has been a valued partner for years, joining our events and speaking directly with our community members as we fight to secure environmental and economic justice for our communities. We were proud to endorse her in this primary and knock on over 20,000 voters' doors to support her candidacy, and we look forward to supporting her in the general election and beyond as we work to build an Arizona where every family can thrive.”
